Treat Dermatitis with UVB Lamps

Dermatitis usually appears as flakes on the skin, including the arms, chest, face, groin, legs, and scalp. One common type of dermatitis is seborrheic dermatitis, which is an inflammatory skin disorder that makes skin seem crusty and greasy.

dermatitis cureSeborrheic dermatitis may not have that much influence on your general health, but it can be really itchy, and it can cause discomfiture when it develops on noticeable parts of your body. It is not infectious, and it is not an indication of poor personal hygiene. However, it has a tendency to reappear, but you can manage outbreaks by knowing its signs and symptoms and by means of a combination of self-care methods and over-the-counter medicines.

Seborrheic dermatitis within the scalp leads to dry pink patches with white bran-like scales. It can spread and affect the entire scalp.

Seborrheic dermatitis is also common behind and inside the ears, within the eyebrows, on the edges of the eyelids, and in the folds beside the nose. It may cause pale pink ring shaped spots on the hairline.

Occasionally, seborrheic dermatitis affects the creases of the armpits and groin, the chest, or upper back. It results to the appearance of salmon-pink flat blotches with loose bran-like scales, which has a ring shape from time to time. It may or may not be prickly, and the discomfort may be fairly variable from day to day.

A number of researchers have associated seborrheic dermatitis with neurological disorders, such as epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease, although the actual reason behind it is still unknown.

As for the management of seborrheic dermatitis, it rests on where it is located and on the age of the individual.

An extremely prevalent treatment for dermatitis these days is ultraviolet light because it has been proven to be really effective. Two of the best hand held UV phototherapy lamps in the market today are the DermaHealer UV-B Phototherapy Lamp and Dermalight 80 UV-B Phototherapy Lamp. Both UVB phototherapy lamps conform to the highest medical standards; yet, they are very economical.

The DermaHealer handheld UV-B Phototherapy Lamp is a drug-free treatment device that is clinically proven effective in treating Dermatitis, Eczema, Psoriasis, Vitiligo, and other skin conditions on the body and scalp. The DermaHealer handheld UV-B Lamp uses innovative Philips UV-B/311nm narrowband lamp lights that have a particular wavelength similar to the sun’s natural spectrum. This specific and distinctive spectral energy dissemination with a release peak at 311nm reduces possible side effects such as itching and redness. Likewise, with the DermaHealer UV-B Lamp, a shorter time of exposure is needed; hence, there is lesser discomfort.

The Dermalight 80 UV-B Phototherapy Lamp is a compact and versatile ultraviolet-emitting device. It may be used to treat all body parts, including the scalp, with the help of a special comb that may be attached to the lamp. This comb offers an all-pervading and very effective treatment of your scalp. The Dermalight80 also comes with UVB/311nm narrowband bulbs like the DermaHealer.

You will not find any device that is easier to use and better in quality than the DermaHealer and Dermalight80 for home UVB phototherapy treatment of Dermatitis.

      advice before use.

  3. Hello,
I’m planning to treat seborrheic Dermatitis on my face. Do you know how far away the device should be help away from the skin?

    1. Hi, Selena..

It should be about 6 inches away from the skin.
The time of exposure also depends on your type of skin.
Knowing your skin type prevents over-exposure to the UV rays.
You can read about this in the DermaHealer manual that comes with the product.
