      Please note that some dental imaging software vendors will not allow integrating our camera fully into their proprietary software. This means that in some cases you (or your dental assistant) may have to click on the capture button in your existing software user interface to capture the image. Some of these vendors require that you purchase an additional imaging module from them.

      FocusDent camera includes our FREE proprietary patient database and image acquisition software that is very easy to use, and allows you to see the video image and save snapshots in JPEG format to your PC. After that, images can be imported into your own dental database application if needed.

  2. Does this device use a 2.0 USB connection or do I need an adapter?
    Will this device display images onto a chromebook11?
    What is the retail price and can the device be purchsed directly or do we have to purchase thru dealer?

    Is your camera compatible with Windows 10 64 bit computers?
    Is there any special software that I need to inegrate with Dexis imaging?

    1. Hello,
      1) Camera uses native Windows drivers and is compatible with Windows 10 64 bit (if used with the provided CD software)
      2) MD740 camera worked out of the box with older versions of Dexis. Newer versions of Dexis (ver. 9, 10) will freeze the image, but forces the user to go back to the computer to save each image. Because Dexis developers want us to use their DexCam3 and 4 now.

  7. The Camera only works at 640×480 resolution on still or video pin on Windows 10 64bit. Is there a way to resolve this?

    1. If you use the camera with the provided software you can change the resolution in the software settings. Hope it helps. 🙂

  8. Greetings,

    one of our clients is using your MD740 camera in his practice.

    It is used on a Windows 7 X64 System. He is using a very old
    software Version (2005 I guess).

    While the software is started the space key on the usb keyboard ceases to work. Is
    it possible to get the most updated version of this software so I can install it for my client?

    I’m certain the problem can be dealt with this way. If you have another suggestion to fix this issue please let me know.

    1. Do you use the software that was shipped with the camera? Camera is WIN 10 compatible and it should save the images without any issues. Also please try to install and use the camera on a different PC.       1. This MD740 USB camera does NOT work with Windows 10, as you claim. There is no “native driver” for it! My camera worked perfectly in Windows 7!
        Can ANYBODY help with this???

  11. I am assisting a client with this device.

    It seems to be having issues being recognized when plugged in and sometimes freezes Dexis.

    It was working well until last week. Suspect a windows update causing the issue.

    Is there a way to get the latest software for this camera that is being used on Windows 10?

    1. Camera was working OK in Dexis ver 8 and older. New versions Dexis
      9 and 10 will freeze the image, but forces the user to go back to the
      computer to save each image. Because Dexis developers want us to use
      their much more expensive DexCam3 and DexCam4.

  13. In other words they dont have a driver since its a mass produced POS. If you have dexis or whatever just go with something else that works.
